Sean Dyche is expected to be appointed Everton manager on Friday.
Former Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa and Daichy held talks with the club on Thursday, with the former seen in London for negotiations with the Everton board.
But the former Burnley manager appears to have won the race to succeed Frank Lampard at Goodison Park.
On Thursday night, Bielsa – who was Farhad Moshiri’s first choice to replace Lampard – had a long meeting with the Toffees’ owner.

While the Argentine coach has impressed, it is believed he will need a summer to put the Everton side into shape he would have liked.
On the other hand, I felt that Daichi could hit the ground while she was running. The former Burnley boss knows three or four Everton players well, and the stability those relationships brought was crucial.
One of them is defender Michael Keane, who spent three seasons working under Daichi at Burnley between 2014 and 2017. The 30-year-old is now expected to stay at Goodison Park after concerns over his future, with Daichi a big fan of the centre. cannon.
Sky Sports News also revealed this week that the cost of signing Bielsa meant a deal was a tough sell.

Bielsa and his back-up staff were likely to cost Everton up to £1m a month – a figure that would cover all members of the manager’s support staff.
Bielsa’s own negotiating style has him asking for a large fee which he then distributes to his coaching staff, which comes as a non-negotiable part of the package.
It is understood there are concerns among Everton bosses about the cost of making such sweeping changes to the structure of their coaching squad.
The Toffees board wanted an experienced Premier League manager, which is why they turned to Dyche.
Stubbs: Daichi has to give Everton an identity
Former Everton defender Alan Stubbs told Sky Sports:
“I wish Sean Dyche all the best for the job, but secondly, he has a tremendous job to do. Anyone who knows football or is a fan of any club can see the enormity of the task ahead of him. Ho, I’m sure he’ll handle it head on. Not nice, he is an experienced manager.
“The only thing he should get from these players is that he should pick them because they look devoid of confidence and Daichi should give Everton an identity.
David Moyes feels Everton are fantastic but a little broken at the moment and praises Daichy’s record at Burnley as he looks set to take over
“For the last few months, I think Everton fans don’t know what this team is, whether they are a counter-attacking team, a team that will play through a third.
“All eyes will be on the players now that the manager has gone. They were right behind the manager but the performance didn’t support it.
“I really hope Shaun can get to those guys because some of them need a kick behind them. They need to get back to the levels some of them showed early on.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp feels comfortable with Frank Lampard after his dismissal from Everton but admits it was part of the job.
“It’s very easy to play against us and we concede too many goals, which told us there are problems in the team. The only thing Daiki’s teams have is that they are hard to beat first and foremost.
“He did a really good job at Burnley and it was only at the end that he started to change. He had to bring identity and solidity to the team.
“They need simplicity in their way of playing. Don’t overload them with too much stuff, get them out there and do the basics. You can look to build on that. When they play games 0-0 they’re self-defeating but with Dyche they’ll stay there.” Till the end.
“This group of players is not good enough to keep Everton, so they need help.”
“Dice has the experience Everton needs”
Sky Sports News’ Vinnie O’Connor at Everton’s Finch Farm training ground:
“We talked about the problems with this appointment of Bielsa: the fact that he wanted a long period of time to clarify his philosophy. We also knew he wanted more speed in the side.
“But we also learned that Sean Daichy had positive talks with Everton earlier this week and impressed during those talks. Now they have decided that Daichy is the right person for Everton going forward.

“Everton wanted that manager with Premier League experience – Bielsa and Daichi both fit the law in that regard – but Daichi had a whole lot of experience for Everton to stay in the Premier League this season.
“The key fact will be the ability to work with this group of players and how he can get his message across. Bielsa has a very unique style in the way he wants to handle things, so he wants to go down the side. But Daichi has managed his hands in a different way at Burnley.
Over a long period of time on a shoestring budget, Daichi managed to keep Burnley in the Premier League and now he’s given the task of keeping Everton in the Premier League.
“He’s very tight at the bottom, and there’s room to get out of it. 35 points would be safe given the level of the Premier League table at the moment. He’ll also have a week or so to build up to his first game against Arsenal on February 4 at Goodison Park.”
