Any bragging rights are sure to generate confidence in the victor who can win the Premier League.
The two sides are likely to change their groups, with the title race heating up and both still involved in European competition.
City crushed Chelsea 4-0 in the third round of this famous old competition.
Riyad Mahrez scored two goals with Julian Alvarez and Phil Foden as well.
Special bet – get City at 25/1 or Arsenal at 70/1
Arsenal, meanwhile, justified apparent favoritism when they beat League One Oxford 3-0.
But the bookies were wary of Arteta’s side drawing 0-0 at half-time.
Mohamed Elneny opened the scoring in the 63rd minute before completing the two goals from Eddie Nketiah.
Here, SunSport previews the mouth-watering showdown at Etihad.
What do they look like?
City have won three of their last five matches in all competitions and lost two.
Those defeats came in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup against Southampton, 2-0, and of course their dramatic 2-1 defeat in the Manchester United derby.
Arsenal are in amazing form – unbeaten in their last five matches with four wins and a draw.
Newcastle’s in-form teammates are the only side to put a slight dent on their trajectory, picking up a point in a 0-0 draw with the Emirates.
What’s the team news and any injuries to worry about?
Man City’s injury calls into question Phil Foden, who has a foot injury and is expected to miss the match.
Boss Guardiola would certainly use the confrontation to give some of his fringe players a chance to impress.
Gabriel Jesus, Reese Nelson and Mohamed Elneny will miss the FA Cup match due to injury.
Like his counterpart, Gunners boss Arteta could shake up his lineup, giving the likes of Vieira, Holding, Tierney and Trossard a chance to impress.
Who will be the men of the stars?
Man City could give Erling Haaland a breather, which could mean Julian Alvarez tops the starting lineup.
The World Cup-winning Argentine has never let anyone down when called upon, and could bolster his stock even further.
Arsenal are sure to shake up the pecking order – and have an immediate chance for new signing Leandro Trossard to shine.
He played 12 minutes of the 3-2 win over Manchester United, and showed glimpses of his talent.

Speaking after beating Wolves 3-0 in the Premier League match, Guardiola said: “The way we played… [vs Wolves] It was exactly the same as the first half when we were losing 2-0 against Tottenham.
“Our game and football was really good… We got better today, but only today.
“We’ll see what happens in the next match.”
After Arsenal’s stunning last-gasp 3-2 victory over Manchester United at the weekend, Arteta said: “It was a beautiful moment at the end to win a game of this caliber.
“The way we did it with our staff and the atmosphere that created…it didn’t get much better than that – it was great.
“We move on to tomorrow, review the game, train well and start thinking about Man City.”
