Islamabad:

A 6.3-magnitude earthquake hit parts of Pakistan on Sunday, but there have been no reports so far of any loss of life or property.

The Meteorological Department stated that the depth of the quake was 150 kilometers, and its epicenter was in Tajikistan.

The administration also reported that the last tremor hit the country at about 12:54 pm, and it was 69.65 east longitude and 38.65 north latitude.

However, the Euromed Seismological Center, an independent earthquake tracker through crowdsourcing information, said the quake occurred near Attock in Pakistan’s Punjab province.

Radio Pakistan said there were no immediate reports of casualties. The earthquake was felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and other parts of the country.

Pakistan is located in an earthquake prone area. The most severe earthquake in 2005 killed more than 74,000 people in the country.
