Manchester United host Nottingham Forest in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final at Old Trafford tonight knowing that one foot is already in the final. A resounding 3-0 victory away from home at the City Ground last week made coach Erik Ten Hag’s team on the verge of a trip to Wembley, where Newcastle awaits after its victory over Southampton.

While Ten Hag had a hard time stressing that United wouldn’t get carried away with themselves, it’s hard to ignore their huge lead. Forest, of course, pride themselves on quality but it’s going to take a great turnaround from here and obviously Steve Cooper’s side has other things to focus on between now and the end of the season.

United are looking for their first title since 2017 and, if a complete meltdown does not happen this evening, they will be favorites to win the competition later this month. Catch all the action live with Standard Sport’s dedicated match blog!
