A 4.4-magnitude earthquake jolted parts of Delhi, NCR and Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. Mild tremors were felt in many districts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana and Delhi NCR. The intensity was measured at 4.4 on the Richter scale and the epicenter was located at Uttarakhand.

Meanwhile, a 5.2-magnitude earthquake hit western Nepal on Wednesday afternoon. The Nepal Earthquake Monitoring Center said the quake occurred at 1:45 p.m. and was registered in Bagura district, 450 km west of Kathmandu. However, there were no reports of any damage from the quake, officials told PTI. Earlier, on January 24, a person was killed when a 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck Pagura.
On Monday, a 3.4-magnitude earthquake hit the J&K area. Data from the National Center for Seismology (NCS) said, “A 3.4-magnitude earthquake occurred at 10.07pm Monday in J&K.”
The epicenter was 89 km east of Katra in the Resi district. The coordinates of the quake were 33.03 degrees north latitude and 75.89 degrees east longitude. It occurred at a depth of 25 km inside the Earth’s interior.
There were no reports of injuries or property damage from anywhere.
Earthquakes have wreaked havoc on J&K in the past. An earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale occurred at J&K on October 8, 2005.
