Dissident Republicans are plotting terror attacks in Northern Ireland over the Easter weekend, police have warned as President Biden prepares to visit to mark the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement.
The Northern Ireland Police Service said the force had received “very strong” intelligence that its officers would be targeted in Londonderry on Easter Monday.
Simon Byrne said the officers would be transferred to front line duties to counter any potential threats in “extraordinary circumstances”.
