The mother of a British-Israeli family who was wounded in a suspected Palestinian gun attack on Friday killed two of her daughters.
Lucy D, 45, has been in a coma since the attack in the occupied West Bank.
Her daughters Rina, 15, and Maya, 20, were buried on Sunday in the Kfar Etzion settlement, in front of their father and three of her siblings.
The family moved to Israel nine years ago from the UK, where Lucy’s husband worked as a rabbi in North London.
Thousands of mourners attended the sisters’ emotionally charged funeral. In his eulogy, Rabbi Leo Dee asked: “How shall I explain to Lucy what has become of our precious gifts, Maya and Rena, when she awakens from her coma?”

The Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem announced the death of Lucy (better known by her Hebrew name, Leah) Dee, Monday morning “despite great and continuous efforts.”
Lucy, Rina and Maya were shot while they were driving in the Jordan Valley in the northern West Bank on their way to a family vacation. Israeli media quoted investigators as saying that their car was destroyed, and the gunmen climbed into the car and opened fire on the women from a close range.
The Israeli public channel Kan reported that 22 bullet casings were found, apparently from a Kalashnikov assault rifle.
Rabbi Dee told the BBC he was driving ahead in a separate car when someone called him with news of the attack. He said he tried to contact his wife and daughters, but they did not respond. Then he saw pictures online of the car that was attacked and recognized one of their bags on the back seat.
Ambulance teams were already present at the scene of the attack, near the settlement of Hamra, when he arrived there.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted that he had sent his “heartfelt condolences to the Dee family, on the death of the family’s mother, Leah (Lucy), who was killed in the grave terrorist attack in Iraq. [Jordan] the valley”.
The Israeli military launched a manhunt for the perpetrators in the aftermath of the attack, which came at a time of heightened tensions between Israel and the Palestinians.
