Two earthquakes of approximately magnitude 6 jolted Kepulawan-Bato, Indonesia, in the morning hours Sunday, according to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).
The first quake, which EMSC has pegged as a magnitude of 6.1, hit Kepulawan-Bato early Sunday, followed by another with a magnitude of 5.8 a few hours later.
EMSC said the first quake was at a depth of 43 kilometers (26.72 miles) while the second quake occurred at a depth of 40 kilometers (24.85 miles).
