At least one drone sank after drones struck Kiev on Thursday night, officials said.
The attack comes after two drones exploded over the Kremlin, the president’s residence in Moscow, on Tuesday.
Russia initially claimed Ukraine was responsible for the attack, but has since shifted blame to the United States. The United States denied these allegations.
“I can assure you that there was no involvement by the United States in this. Whatever happened was not related to us,” White House national security spokesman John Kirby told MSNBC in an interview. “We have nothing to do with this. “
The drone attack on Kiev began shortly after 8pm on Thursday and lasted about 20 minutes, subjecting residents to waves of gunfire and explosions.
This is the fourth attack on Kiev in as many days.
The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, said that the drones killed two batteries.
“During the last air alert, a drone was seen over Kiev. The target was shot down by air defense forces,” Serhiy Popko, head of the Kiev city military department, told Telegram.

Officials said at least one drone was shot down after the fourth attack on Kiev in as many days.
Drones attacked the city of Kiev on Thursday night, subjecting residents to waves of gunfire and explosions.
At least one drone was shot down after anti-aircraft units went into action during the raid, which began shortly after 8 p.m. and lasted about 20 minutes.
The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, said that the drones killed two batteries.
“During the last air alert, a drone was seen over Kiev. The target was shot down by air defense forces,” Serhiy Popko, head of the Kiev city military department, told Telegram.
Popko said that a fire had been brought under control in the building where the drone was shot down in the Solomyansky district, west of the city centre. He said there were no injuries.
A small fire also broke out in the Pechersk region to the east.
Reuters witnesses heard repeated gunshots and explosions near the city centre.
Local authorities declared a state of alert for the capital and the surrounding area. Residents who went to the air raid shelters said that the drones arrived more quickly than usual after the warnings were issued.
A witness said a drone was seen crashing in an area near the Dinamo soccer stadium and on the bank of the Dnipro River outside the city centre.

Artists of Russia: Our fire is stronger than your bombs
As Ukrainian artists Zhenya Polosina and Anna Ivanenko watched missiles descend on their country, the two decided to use their creativity to respond to the Russian invasion. Working in the early days of the war from dugouts or sometimes without electricity and water in Kiev, they and other artists began painting.
Some of their war posters are now on display in New Hampshire. In the exhibition entitled “Our fire is stronger than your bombs,” Ivanenko’s posters show children studying in a bomb shelter and Ukrainians fleeing the country shortly after the war began. Paulusina’s drawings celebrate a young gymnast and mathematician who was killed in missile strikes.

The European Union has announced new plans to ramp up large-scale munitions production, aiming to benefit Ukraine at a time when the country is at war with Russia and improve the bloc’s geopolitical credentials.
Ukraine is preparing to launch a counteroffensive in the planned spring to retake Russian-occupied territories, but the country has burned through ammunition at a furious rate, according to analysts. The Western Allies provided ammunition, and the government in Kiev told them to provide more.
“Let’s give first, let’s give first, what Ukraine needs immediately. Once again, we know exactly what is happening on the ground,” said Thierry Breton, EU Internal Market Commissioner.

Viral videos of two drones exploding over the Kremlin, the president’s Moscow residence and symbol of Russian power, have sparked a frantic circle of claims and counterclaims, with the suggestion that Ukraine attempted to assassinate Vladimir Putin prompting shock and suspicion.
Russia has accused Ukraine of carrying out what it called a “planned terrorist act” in an effort to eliminate Mr Putin, saying two drones deployed on the mission were neutralized by the Kremlin’s defense systems.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denied the allegations, saying “we are not attacking Putin” and “we are fighting on our territory”.

1683228612 Zelensky says the world bears a “historic responsibility” to prosecute Putin for war crimes
“We all want to see a different Vladimir here in The Hague, one who deserves to be punished for his criminal actions here, in the capital of international law,” the Ukrainian president said, referring to the Russian leader. “The aggressor must feel the full force of justice. This is our historical responsibility.” Mr. Zelensky added that he was sure “we will see it happen when we win…and we will win.”
In March, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Mr. Putin on suspicion of deporting children from Ukraine, a war crime. Russia, which is not a member of the ICC, has called the accusations meaningless, but the note makes Putin’s trips abroad more difficult – countries that have registered with the court are obligated to obey.
