The Princess of Wales looked radiant in a stunning ivory dress by Alexander McQueen as she attended the King’s Coronation alongside Prince William today.

Arriving in London this morning, Kate Middleton, 41, was elegant in a stunning ivory silk dress, which featured silver bullion embroidery and thread adorned with motifs of roses, thistles, daffodils and shamrocks to represent each of the four nations.

Instead of a tiara, the royal mother of three wore a matching Jess Colette and Alexander McQueen headpiece with silver bullion, crystals and silver thread embroidered with 3D leaves.

In a touching nod to her late mother-in-law, the princess wore a set of diamond and pearl earrings by Diana for the occasion.

Meanwhile, she also paid tribute to the late Queen by wearing the George VI Festoon necklace, which was a gift from King George VI to his daughter, then Princess Elizabeth.

The princess has long chosen to dress as Alexander McQueen for important moments in her life.

She has worn Alexander McQueen – one of her favorite fashion brands – on many occasions, most notably choosing Creative Director Sarah Burton to design her wedding dress.

The flowers of the four nations – the English rose, the Scottish thistle, the Welsh daffodil and the Irish shamrock – are embroidered on the dress.

Kate wore pearl earrings that she had given Diana before her wedding to Prince Charles in 1981.

The earrings, made by Collingwood, mark a touching handover from one Princess of Wales to another.

They became firm favorites with Diana and were practiced on royal tours in Australia, Canada and Italy.

The earrings feature a round diamond hoop, from which an additional round diamond hangs, and a bell cap set with three more rows of small diamonds. All bell shells contain a drop of a pearl.

Diana started wearing earrings before she became Princess of Wales. It was a gift from Collingwood, a jewelry company that was a favorite of the Spencer family.

She wore them on several occasions throughout her marriage.
