Arteta demands a ‘much better’ performance against Newcastle to keep the title race alive

Newcastle host Arsenal this afternoon in a top-of-the-table encounter that will have implications for the Premier League title race and battle for the top four.
Eddie Howe’s men will hope to retain third place and ensure a return to European competition in the Champions League next season. Three points against Arsenal will secure them a place in the top four and reduce the pressure on the models heading into the final few games.
Meanwhile, Arsenal face another tough game as they try to continue their title chase. Mikel Arteta’s side know that fate is out of their hands with Manchester City now top of the table. If City win all of their remaining matches, they will be crowned champions again regardless of Arsenal’s results. However, Arteta’s men could increase the likelihood of City faltering if they increase the pressure on the reigning champions by winning matches.
The longtime league leaders ended a four-match winless run with a comfortable win over Chelsea on Tuesday night, but will face stiff opposition this afternoon.
