Seismologist Lucy Jones said on Twitter that the quake was the largest in California since 2019, when a 7.1-magnitude quake hit Ridgecrest.

The M5.5 that just occurred in Plumas County is the largest in California since the Ridgecrest M7.1 sequence of 2019. Between Chester and Greenville, it’s in the area hit by the Dixie Fire in 2021
