A 5.5-magnitude earthquake hits the area

People felt a 5.5-magnitude earthquake at 4:19 PM on May 11, 2023, with its epicenter on Lake Almanor, in the foothills. No injuries or deaths have been reported at this time.

A series of aftershocks ranging in magnitude from 0.7 to 2.8 in magnitude were recorded in the vicinity.
