It all started on a glorious day in Glasgow’s East End against Aberdeen.
And nearly 10 months later, the sun will once again divide the skies as the Dons once again provide opposition while the Hoops achieve their goal for the season.
Stephen Welsh and Jota scored in a 2-0 win to lead Ange Postecoglou’s men to their defense of the Scottish Premier League title on 31 July.
There was even a full Tifoo stadium and it will be the same again as Celtic captain Callum McGregor and his teammates claim the 2022/23 trophy.
So it will be a familiar feeling around Parkhead – not least because Celtic lift that trophy again. Perhaps Aberdeen could not have predicted how many rollercoasters their season would have back on Opening Day.
Jim Goodwin was in charge but was sacked at the start of the year and Barry Robson taking over proved a shrewd move as he steered them to third in the league.

Damn commentator!
We were about to beef up Don’s defense before Kyogo did his thing. An amazing finish as he takes a driven Taylor pass.
He weaves a yard and curls up behind the impressive Roos—the spell is ringing on him.

A cracking watch and plenty to offer despite the dead rubber element. This is an unfair judgment in this case.

Boyan wait
Aberdeen boss Barry Robson maintains star striker Bojan Mijowski will be fit for the new season.
The North Macedonian’s 18 goals in his first season helped the Dons clinch third place, but he damaged ankle ligaments against St Mirren on Wednesday. Robson hopes a specialist will deliver good news on Monday.
We got checked out and although there were a lot of first issues, hopefully it won’t be as bad as initially feared. We’ll find out more when he sees a specialist. Fingers crossed we’ll be back sooner rather than later.
