The effects of the quake were felt far beyond the borders of Pakistan as mild tremors were felt in parts of Punjab and Haryana in India, including Chandigarh, on Sunday. The tremors, which lasted for a few seconds, occurred at around 11.23am IST.

A 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck several parts of Pakistan on Sunday morning, sparking panic and forcing residents to flee their homes.

The epicenter was the border region between Afghanistan and Tajikistan, and it originated at a depth of 223 kilometers, which greatly reduced its devastating impact, according to the National Seismic Monitor in Islamabad.

Shocks were reported in Islamabad, Peshawar, Swat, Haripur, Malakand, Abbottabad, Patgram, Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, Taxila, Band Dadan Khan and several other parts of the country.
