Five-year-old Alicia Salisbury has been described as “beautiful” by her family after she died in a house fire
A five-year-old girl has died in a house fire in Pembrokeshire.
Police, ambulances and firefighters attended the property in Ponteglacier, near Cremish, shortly before 10pm on Saturday 27 May.
Despite efforts by the emergency services to save her, officers confirmed Alicia Salisbury had died at the scene.
Alicia’s family, whom she describes as a “beautiful daughter and sister,” is supported by competent officers.
DCI Llyr Williams, of Dyfed-Powys Police, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and the local community at this tragic time.
“His Majesty the King has been informed, and the officers will now work with their colleagues from the fire service to determine the cause of the fire.
“The family requests privacy at this difficult time.”
Local county councilor Sean Reese went to the scene of what was described as “devastation” at the end of a quiet country lane.
He said: Our thoughts are at the moment with the family at this terrible and tragic time.
“This family has lost absolutely everything, including a young child, and we as a community are doing everything we can to support them.
“People are already gathering with clothes and food and I know this will continue in the coming days, weeks and months.”
The road has been closed to traffic as firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire to the coroner.
Council colleague Mr Davies said: “This is a tragedy of the first order and our thoughts go out to everyone affected by this event.
“We are now organizing a collection of clothes and food to help support the family in the coming days.
