Rishi Sunak’s popularity drops to its lowest level in three months

Rishi Sunak’s approval rating among voters fell to its lowest level in three months as Labor extended its lead in the poll over the Conservatives.

A Redfield & Wilton Strategies poll conducted on May 28 found that 44 percent of voters disapprove of Sunak’s performance as prime minister, up three points from last week, while 30 percent agree unchanged.

That gave the prime minister an approval rating of minus 14, its lowest score since February 26 when it was minus 17. His worst result ever was -22 on February 18.

In contrast, Sir Keir Starmer was in positive territory with a plus-eight approval rating. About 37 percent of voters approved of his performance as leader of the Labor Party, while 29 percent disapproved.

Meanwhile, Labor’s overall lead over the Conservatives has grown to 15 points, up three points from last week. The poll puts Labor at 43 per cent, up one point, and the Conservatives at 28 per cent, down two points.
