A murder investigation is underway after a woman’s body is discovered in a river in Powys.
Police said the body of a 34-year-old was found in the River Severn outside Llanidlos, central Wales, at around 4pm on Sunday.
Later that day, a 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder, and remains in police custody.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of a man and woman in Llanidloes on Saturday or Sunday to come forward.
They are also interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen the man and woman on the A470 between Llanidloes and Dolwen in those days.
Police said the woman was wearing a gray T-shirt, dark pants and white sneakers. She was described as white, 5 feet 4 inches tall, of a small build, with very long curls.
The man was described as about 6 feet tall, of stocky build, with braids and a dark colored bandana.
Dyfed-Powys police said he was wearing a high-visibility short-sleeved T-shirt, shorts and light-colored sneakers.
He had a black single-strap bag with him, and police said he had a small dark-coloured dog with him.
The officers are also keen to speak with the person who gave the man and his dog a lift between Welshpool and Shrewsbury.
The force said it was taken down near Dinky’s Dinahs in Shrewsbury on Sunday.
