A heartbreaking post from a young dad before he and his pregnant girlfriend died in a horror car crash

Josh Alexander, 21, and pregnant Jessica Paul, 18, were killed in a Kent car crash.

A young father shared a heartbreaking post before he and his pregnant girlfriend died when their car was hit by a truck.

Jessica Paul, 18, who was nearly four months pregnant, and fitness fanatic Josh Alexander, 21, were driving their white Vauxhall Corsa when it crashed into a white van in Woodchurch, Kent, at around 5pm.

One of Josh’s recent posts on his Facebook page showed a baby boy carrying a positive pregnancy test and examining his son inside the womb.

Josh captioned the post with the words: “November 2023. See you later one night.”

Josh and a grieving Jessica’s friends and family paid tribute to the two children online.

Ben Sessions, Josh’s father, said his son’s death left him with “a void that I feel can never be filled”, while one of Jessica’s friends said “your loss will be something I will never heal from”.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Monday after the horrific collapse but the Hastings couple were pronounced dead.

Friends described Josh, who worked at Tenterden Entertainment Centre, as someone who “brought the best out of everyone”.

In a tribute reported by KentOnline, Mr Sissens said of his son: ‘You were my first, my everything, my little one, my heart, my soul and my proudest achievement.

“Rest now, my love, with lovely Jess and your baby.”

Josh’s friend Ben Wheeler wrote online: ‘I’ve never met someone as wonderful, honest, kind, and hardworking as you.

You deserve the world and you deserve to be with Jess and your little one.

I hope the three of you are together in a better place. We will miss forever.

Another friend, Michael Harmer, said, “You have been a blessing to my life and to all others – your light was radiant and you never failed to bring out the best in everyone.”

Charlie Louise Kent, a friend of Jessica’s, wrote: ‘I am incredibly at a loss for words and in complete disbelief.

“[I am] Still wrapping my head around the fact that Angel Girl is gone, I’m feeling so sad.

You taught me the meaning of friendship and you are and always will be the kindest soul I have ever encountered.

From being school girls to learning together, I made some amazing memories with you and ones I will cherish forever.

From talking every day and being with you all the time to having nothing but the mark you’ll leave behind breaks my heart.

“I’m so lucky to have been a part of your life and that you’ve really brightened up my life.

Losing you will be something I will never recover from but living for you is something I promise.

I hope you are somewhere at peace with baby Marcus [and] Josh.

“Don’t ever forget me because I will never forget you, I love you my special girl.”

The Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit is appealing to witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage that may help come forward.
