He urged Liverpool to sign Rice

Former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch would ‘absolutely love it’ if the Reds signed West Ham star Declan Rice this summer.

“Alexis McAllister is a good signing for Liverpool,” Crouch told Paddy Power. “He’s a great player but the fans will want more signings before next season. Defensive reinforcements and another midfielder would be welcome.”

“I know he’s linked elsewhere, but I’d absolutely love to see Declan Rice come in too. He’s a great actor and I think he could go to any club and be a great signing for them. Liverpool probably wouldn’t be the best. Because it would be too expensive, but he would be a great addition.” .

“I was delighted to see him pick up the Europa League trophy with West Ham. People smell the competition, but I thought it was fantastic and I saw the scenes – the players, the fans, the manager, they absolutely loved it. I was very pleased for them.”
