Magna earthquake with a magnitude of 2.5

Magna, Utah – A 2.5-magnitude earthquake hit Magna just before noon Wednesday, seismologists said.

KSL NewsRadio obtained a couple of texts from people in the area who say they felt some shaking.

The USGS website allows people to submit their own reports of how the earthquake felt. Using this information, the USGS has created a map showing where the earthquake was felt and how intense it was.

At the time of publication, responses showed that the earthquake was weak or mild by those in the area.

Echo of the 2020 earthquake

Wednesday’s quake comes three years after the 5.7-magnitude quake struck northern Utah’s Magna.

This earthquake caused millions of dollars in damages in Salt Lake County.
