Although their midweek game at Shell Energy Stadium was postponed due to thunderstorms, the San Jose Earthquakes may have wished it could be canceled entirely after falling 4-1 to the Houston Dynamo, with whom they are tied at 27 points in the Western Conference.

The loss ended the Quakes’ five-game unbeaten streak, with two early goals leaving them before the Thunder struck, and although Carlos Acabo halved their deficit shortly before halftime, two more goals leaks in the final 15 minutes sealed their rout.

San Jose remains just five points behind conference leader LAFC, but has already beaten Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Seattle this year, going undefeated at home before Saturday’s showdown.

St. Louis, like its hosts, have made the most of home from home this season, so their loss to Real Salt Lake at City Park in the middle of the week came as a surprise.

City’s stellar start to life in Major League Soccer hit a rare stumbling block on Wednesday when RSL cruised to a 3-1 win in Missouri.

As a result, they lost their place at the top of the Western Conference to LAFC, with coach Bradley Carnell now taking over with three losses and a draw in the previous four games.

Such a collapse would have been inevitable for a newly established expansion club, but after starting their debut season with five straight wins, there is great concern that this momentum is being lost.

Here GOAL brings you everything you need to know about how to watch, including TV channel, broadcast details, and more.
