The Director of the General Directorate of Meteorology and Seismology, Fadel Ibrahim, said that an earthquake struck Dohuk Governorate on Monday morning, indicating that the tremor was recorded at 9:42 am local time with a magnitude of 4.7 and a depth of two kilometers, according to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

The statement indicated that the earthquake was felt by residents in Dohuk and Mosul, indicating that its epicenter was located 12 kilometers northwest of Dohuk.

The General Directorate of Meteorology and Seismology in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq called on citizens to exercise caution, avoid rumors and false news, and follow the instructions issued by the directorate.
