The Earthquake Research Center also reports that more than 1,500 earthquakes have been recorded in the Woods Point area – near the site of Friday’s quake – since the September 2021 quake.

Football legend and Hall of Fame inductee Jimmy Bartell, who hosts the breakfast show on 3AW this week, said he felt the shiver.

“I’ve joined a club that, like many Victorians, are three-time earthquake survivors,” the former Geelong 3AW player said on Friday.

“Our house growled.”

No major damage has been reported so far.

Lisa O’Halloran, from Forest Hill in east Melbourne, was breastfeeding her five-month-old when she felt the shivers.

“I was sitting in my bed, and I felt like a wind was coming — like howling. So, I went to check my phone, and then the windows started shaking. I was ready for the last one, and I was like, ‘It’s an earthquake,'” she said.

O’Halloran felt the quake for about 10 seconds and said it was not as intense as last May.

“There was a kind of roaring noise from outside,” she said. “It’s a little scary when you’re up late at night. It feels a little weird.”

Tony Faila, 57, who lives in Llangwarin, felt his house shake for about 15 seconds.

“The bloody bed started to shiver,” he said, “and I thought, ‘Oh, there’s another earthquake. ‘”

Villa said this felt different from earlier Victorian tremors because the glasses and plates in his cupboards shook, whereas before he only noticed his house moving. This time, he did not hear a sound before the earthquake.
