The city of Larnaca felt an earthquake on Monday, according to the Department of Geological Survey.
The quake, which measured 2.5 on the Richter scale, occurred at 1:03 p.m. as recorded by the department’s seismological network.
According to the report, the epicenter was located in a land area 10 kilometers northwest of Larnaca, with a focal depth of 15 kilometers. Although the magnitude of the earthquake indicated a relatively low intensity, it was still felt within the Larnaca region.
Residents of the area reported that they felt slight tremors due to the seismic activity.
No major damage or injuries were reported.
