Leeds United goalkeeper coach Marcus Abad is set to leave the club following the appointment of new manager Daniel Varkey.
Abad is set to leave Elland Road after six years in the role as part of changes instigated by Farke’s appointment as first-team boss.
United unveiled Farke on a four-year contract yesterday following an extensive recruitment process.
The 46-year-old is due to train at Thorpe Arch for the first time today but met club staff yesterday after his appointment was confirmed.
Farke brought three employees with him—Eddie Rimmer, Christopher John, and Chris Domogala—and all of them had worked with him in previous jobs, including at
Norwich City as FARC won promotion from the Championship twice.
Abad has been United’s goalkeeper coach since 2017, on the recommendation of former director of football Victor Orta, but he is now expected to leave the club.
Fabian Otti was Varkey’s goalkeeper coach at Borussia Monchengladbach last season, but there has been no word yet from Leeds on how to replace Abad.
