Mason Mount has been congratulated by Jude Bellingham after completing his move this week from Chelsea to Manchester United.

Mason Mount, now an official Manchester United player, has ended his 18-year association with Chelsea.

The 24-year-old playmaker was one of the biggest success stories to come out of the Cobham Blues academy, but now he continues his footballing journey in Manchester at Old Trafford.

Mount uploaded a message to Instagram yesterday discussing wearing the iconic No. 7 shirt at Manchester United.

He wrote: “I know the history and I understand the responsibility that comes with this jersey. The most important thing for me is to gain your trust and I will work hard to do that. The Reds will not let you down!”

Bellingham, who will know exactly what Mt. is going through this summer, sent two words of encouragement in the post’s comments section.

If you thought Mount carrying the No. 7 shirt was too much of a liability, Bellingham could take it a step further with his decision this summer.

The 20-year-old midfielder joined Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund this summer. He certainly raised some eyebrows by taking the No. 5 set which the legendary Zinedine Zidane is also famous for.

England boss Gareth Southgate hopes to see Mount and Bellingham settle quickly at their new club.

The Athletic report that Man United feel they have done an outstanding job in signing Mount for an initial transfer fee of £55m.

It sure will be interesting to see if it justifies that price tag.

He has been accustomed to taking responsibility and pressing in recent years for Chelsea, but he has stepped into a huge club the size of Man United where there will be other expectations.
