Doda: Jammu and Kashmir: An earthquake hits Doda

The National Center for Seismology said that a 4.9-magnitude earthquake jolted the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir early Monday morning. The earthquake occurred at 5:38 am. Officials said there were no immediate reports of any damage.

The epicenter of the quake was 10 kilometers below the earth’s surface in the Doda region. The commission said the accident occurred at 33.15 degrees north latitude and 75.68 degrees east longitude.

According to officials, Doda has been hit by 12 tremors of varying intensity since June this year. A 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck the region on June 13, causing cracks in dozens of buildings, including homes.
