Welcome to today’s live ukraine blog. Abby Cheeseman is here, keeping you updated from the Russo-Ukrainian War.

First this morning:

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the Kerch Bridge, which links Crimea with Russia, is a legitimate military target because Moscow uses it to transport weapons.

In a video call with the Aspen Security Forum Friday night, Mr. Zelensky said that “the goal is to take back all of Crimea.” The Crimean Bridge, or Kerch, has been attacked twice since October, the latest on Monday killing two civilians. Ukraine did not directly accept responsibility for the attack, but praised it.

The nearly 12-mile-long crossing, which was personally inaugurated by Vladimir Putin, carries enormous strategic and symbolic value for Moscow. “The Crimean Bridge is not just a logistical route,” Zelensky said. “This is the route used to fuel the war with ammunition… and the militarization of Crimea.”

An official Telegram account said road traffic this morning on the bridge was “temporarily blocked”. She added, without giving reasons, “Those on the bridge and in the inspection area are required to remain calm and follow the instructions of the transportation security officers.” Initial reports indicated that a Russian military airport in occupied Crimea was hit this morning.
