Somerville, South Carolina (WCSC) – An earthquake struck the Lowcountry Monday, the US Geological Survey reported.
The 2.53-magnitude quake struck at 2:45 p.m. Monday 5.6 miles northwest of Summerville, according to the USGS.
The South Carolina Department of Emergency Management launched a tool for residents to walk them through earthquake basics and how to prepare for one in October.
