The Alaska Tribal Health Federation will receive approximately $6 million in federal funds to cover the costs of building repairs from the 2018 earthquake.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) gave the consortium funds to cover damage to the administration building, the parking lot, and the Healthy Communities Building, which is held at the clinic year-round, among other services.
Buildings and parking lots were severely damaged by the earthquake.
The Alaska Tribal Health Federation is a nonprofit agency whose mission is to meet the needs of more than 180,000 Alaskan Natives and American Indians in Alaska, according to the organization.
The total cost to restore and protect the facilities from future earthquakes is $7.9 million, with 75% of the federal cost for a $5.9 million stake, according to a press release.
