Speculation surrounding the status of the Green Bay Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers reached a focal point Tuesday after the ruling NFL MVP was reported not to attend the team meeting to start the mandatory junior camp this week, a move that officially leaves him “disabled.”

News of Rodgers’ supposed absence was first reported Monday night by ESPN, just a day before the three-day camp began.

Traders won’t trade Aaron Rodgers, and we don’t think the Rebound Quad is committed to not playing: Report

But on Tuesday morning, the NFL Network reported that Rodgers skipped the team’s first meeting and likely won’t show up for the rest of the small camp this week, which could result in a $93,085 fine for missing all three days.

NFL Insider Tom Pellisero reported: “Aaron Rodgers was not present at the start of the 8:30 a.m. team meeting for the start of the #Packers minicamp, as expected.

Head coach Matt Lafleur said last week, without being certain, that he hoped Rodgers would show it.

“It’s important that we have all of our guys, and for sure, we’d love to have him here and hope to see him Tuesday,” he said via PackersNews.com.

LaFleur’s statement came on the heels of reports that the Packers organization did not believe Rodgers was truly committed to never playing with them again.

Rodgers already lost out on a $500,000 workout bonus after he missed out on the voluntary OTA and packers could be seeking to pay off millions of dollars in bonus money, but sources told the NFL Network that the team is not looking to go down that path and is instead actively trying to work something out.

For now, players will have the opportunity to see reserve quarterback Jordan Love in action with some of their veteran players.
