SAN ANTONIO – Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland lifted its closure Wednesday afternoon after two shots were reported.
Lieutenant Colonel Brian Lovelace said authorities were still trying to verify whether there had been shooting. Shortly before noon, someone at one of the Lackland facilities reported hearing two gunshots from outside the base.
“We have some leads about what happened and we’re investigating at the moment,” Lovelace said.
No one was injured in the incident and Lovelace said they are receiving assistance from several agencies as they track down information about the reported shooting.
Lovelace said they should have taken the reports seriously and thanked local law enforcement for their assistance in the investigation.
SAPD spokeswoman Jennifer Rodriguez said the crime scene has not been located.
