Fans were thrilled to find out that country star Maren Morris will perform at the 2021 CMT Music Awards on Wednesday, June 9. However, on Tuesday (the day before the show), Marin announced that she would not be attending, leaving many behind. Let’s wonder what happened and where you will be instead.
According to People, Maren posted on her Instagram Stories that she was unable to attend the show due to scheduling conflicts, although she did not provide any details. “Due to a scheduling conflict, I will not perform at the CMT Music Awards on Wednesday,” she wrote. “I know jpsaxe is going to kill her and I’m so excited for his album coming out soon!”
Maren was supposed to perform “Line by Line” with JP Saxe, and instead it was announced that Ingrid Andress would replace her.
People were, of course, disappointed with the news, but that’s all the more reason to vote for Marin, who was nominated for four awards this evening, including Video of the Year for “Better Than We Found It” and “Chasing After You,” a collaboration with her husband. Ryan Heard.
Marinette isn’t the only singer to abruptly withdraw from the show, Gabe Barrett, who was also nominated and was scheduled to perform with Lady A and Carly Pearce, has announced that she will not attend for personal reasons.
“I’m really sad to share that due to personal circumstances, I won’t be able to perform with @ladya and @carlypearce on Wednesday at the cmt Music Awards! I’m rooting for you guys and all the incredibly talented nominees and performers!”
Although we’ll miss Maren and Gabe, we know the CMT Awards will still be a hit, and we wish them all the best in their nominations!
