The Battlefield series from developer Dice has spent its last two entries focusing on World Wars I and II, but things will change in the upcoming Battlefield 2042. Not only will players have new sci-fi weapons at their disposal, but there will also be plenty of players entering the fray.
Battlefield 2042 is scheduled to release on October 22 and will double the number of players in multiplayer matches to 128 for players playing on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series. Conquest and Breakthrough modes will also return where teams will fight against each other on seven massive maps. The matches will also include dynamic events like storms to make the battles even crazier.

As expected in a game that takes place in the future, there will be some futuristic weapons. The Battlefield 2042 reveal trailer features one of the new additions: a robot dog armed with its mechanical teeth. More gameplay will be revealed in an upcoming reveal on June 13th.

One of the big changes coming to Battlefield 2042 is the lack of a campaign. “I think that’s just something we can count on our best,” game design director Daniel Berlin told Eurogamer on Wednesday. Berlin also says there are no plans to set up a royal battle.
Even without a campaign, there is still a narrative of this action. In the 1930s, environmental and economic disasters are tearing the world apart. Displaced people huddle together to survive and are referred to as stateless or unsponsored. The United States and Russia began using these non-state soldiers to fight their wars for resources in 2042.
Battlefield 2042 will release on October 22nd for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series.
