Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The cruise line said in a press release on Thursday that two guests aboard the Celebrity Millennium have tested positive for Covid-19 in the required end-of-flight test.

The Celebrity Millennium — the first major cruise ship to allow American passengers since the pandemic imposed a pause in the industry — set sail on Saturday.

The statement said that the two positive guests, who had been sharing a private room on the ship, were asymptomatic and are now in isolation while being monitored by a medical team.

“We are tracing contacts, expediting tests for all contacts, and closely monitoring the situation,” the press release said.

The ship is sailing “with fully vaccinated crew and guests and follows comprehensive protocols that comply with our destination partners and exceed CDC guidelines to protect the health and safety of our guests,” the statement said.

The 7-day cruise from St. Maarten includes stops at ports in Barbados, Aruba, and Curacao.

The statement said all guests were required to show proof of vaccination and a negative Covid-19 test within 72 hours prior to Saturday from St Maarten.

There were about 500 passengers on board, more than 95% of whom were fully vaccinated, according to an earlier CNN report. Children who have not yet been vaccinated have been asked to show negative Covid-19 tests.

“This situation demonstrates that our stringent health and safety protocols are working to protect our staff, our guests, and the communities we visit,” the press release read.

Details about the Covid-19 vaccine for passengers are unknown.

On Monday, Royal Caribbean Group, the parent company of Celebrity Cruise Lines, said on Twitter that returning to Barbados “for the first time in over a year is really special”.

“Every calculated step has been taken to ensure the health and safety of our guests, crew and residents of this cherished destination is protected and we are grateful,” the post said.

CNN’s Maggie Fox contributed to this report.
