The Strokes reopened Irving Square in New York City with John Mulaney and Dev Hynes: videos

[ad_1]

Last month, the Strokes played their first-ever “unplugged” group as part of a virtual fundraiser for NYC nominee Maya Wiley. Last night, the band put on a more aggressive show in support of Wiley at the newly renovated Irving Plaza. This was the first show since October 2019 at the newly remodeled venue, and the city’s first full-capacity indoor concert since the pandemic.

They were played through a 16-song set that included a guest appearance by Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes, who joined them on the song One Way Trigger. Steve Shelts took the place of guitarist Nick Valence, who could not succeed. Before playing the strokes, comedian John Mulaney opened and Willie and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spoke onstage. Watch some videos from the show and check out the list below.

Last night, we held our first in-person concert in New York City in 2021. 100% of the audience was vaccinated! 🤘🏽🎸
