All that is new from the presentation of computer games at E3 2021

[ad_1]

With E3 2021 starting to fade as fast as it ended, tonight we got the PC game show. Here it is our time! It’s our time here. We’ve got new trailers for some of the things we’ve seen already announced over the weekend, but also some brand new announcements for some pretty cool stuff – like the glorious gloom of Far: Changing Tides, the unbearable cuteness of Tinkykin’s being, and Mechajammer’s cybercrime.

If you need to catch up on other E3 events, keep an eye on our news feed, and check out our roundups of other big shows. We have tonight’s Xbox and Bethesda Show, Square Enix Stream, Ubisoft Forward Stream, plus all the games from Netflix’s Geeked Week, Geoff’s Summer Game Fest, and Double Fine’s Day Of The Devs.

Naraka: Bladepoint – New Obsolete Giant Chainsaw سلاح

Naraka is a 60-player Battle Royale game and, in fairness, we’ve seen a lot of trailers. But only one trailer featured a big magic saw, and that’s it right here. It joins other weapons on the list, including RPS’s favorite weapon: the grappling hook. Naraka is coming on August 12th.

Dodgeball Academy – New Game Announcement

Coming from Humble Games and out later this year, Dodgeball Academia combines super cute 2D animation art with a team building next door to Pokemon for dodge ball fights. You play as Otto, in a world where the dribbling ball is more important than anything else in the universe, so much so that there is a whole school for it. Besides dodgeball games, there is a whole story RPG series to follow. Scott Pilgrim and I seem interested in her.

Rawmen – New Trailer

Another new trailer for Rawmen, the food-themed free-to-play arena shooter. It’s for 2-8 players and we’ve already peeked at it in the Guerrilla Collective, but this trailer is a bit longer and the developer comment doesn’t cut it.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human – Developer Interview

Techland’s narrative director Piotr Szymanek took us on a deep dive into the upcoming Zombie parkour ’em up game, Dying Light 2: Stay Human. We heard more details about the game’s backstory and the origins of Black Monday, the day the zombie apocalypse was unleashed in Dying Light City 2. It’s pretty grim stuff, but hey, no one said the zombie origin stories would be pretty. Long story short, you’ll be searching for your long-lost sister when the game releases on December 7, 2021.

They’re Always Running – New Trailer

What’s scarier than a mutant bounty hunter? Mutant bounty hunter with a small third arm in the middle of his back. Protagonist Aiden makes the most of this situation, however, and the premise makes for a neat 2D side-scrolling action game, that’s for sure.

Orcs Must Die 3 – New Trailer

This 3D tower defense game was earlier exclusive to Stadia, but it’s coming to other platforms (including PC) on July 23. Chief Design Director Jerome Jones has appeared to give some details about traps, gadgets, and game modes with which you can rein in the green hordes. Who among us has not unleashed a hurricane on the battlefield?

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong – New Trailer

If there’s one thing that’s sure that interests me it’s the games made in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe. Swansung’s trailer and description make it sound a bit like Life Is Strange for the undead. It is an RPG set in Boston, where you play as three different vampires with different abilities. The choices you make while trying to uncover the truth can have dire consequences and determine the fate of the city. Swansong was revealed last year, but she’s looking more incarnate now, and this trailer is dedicated to just one of the three – Leysha, who has been paid to protect her daughter at all costs.

Gigabash – New Game Announcement

Gigabash is a new multiplayer fighting game that sees classic Kaiju battle with each other. Godzilla vs Kong, eat your heart out. Up to four players will be able to storm the destructible cities, and it sounds like a real shout out.

Lemnis Gate – New trailer and developer interview

We got another look at the turn-based time-loop at Lemnis Gate this evening, featuring new weapons, abilities, and enemies you’ll encounter when they arrive on PC on August 3. Each round/episode lasts only 25 seconds, and you’ll use these skills in several different modes – Retrieve XM, Seek and Destroy, Classic Deathmatch and Domination. There’s also an open beta coming next month, so you can try it out for yourself.

Next Space Rebels – New Game Announcement

What if the Kerbal Space Program was reduced to rockets in your own backyard? This is Next Space Rebels in a nutshell. Instead of building massive space rockets, you will build pint-sized space machines and upload your own launches to the game’s fantasy internet to earn tons of likes and subscriptions. It launches (literally) this fall.

WarTales – New Game Announcement

A strategy RPG where you lead a small team of mercenaries on a far-reaching adventure, across hostile and unforgiving landscapes with more snow and turn-based battles with wolves than I personally feel comfortable facing. It comes from the makers of Northgard, so you know there are some strategy pieces out there, but WarTales is also part management and part survival. You need to keep your mirror fed, alive and well in a bleak world full of plague.

Ixion – New Game Announcement

This new space settlement management game got its first fictional cinematic trailer today, which culminates in a crazy alien moon-blowing movie. Come on guys, don’t hurt the moon! It’s not yet clear exactly what the Ixion will look like, but we’ll find out in 2022.

Far: Changing Tides – New Game Trailer

Surprising reveal of the sequel to Far: Lone Sails. Far Away: Changing Tides promises us more in a similar vein, but this time you’re on an ordinary, small, lonely ship – as in a ship at sea. Okomotive’s latest installment sees you in control of Toe, a powerful little hero who finds himself trapped in a sinking world and makes a bid for freedom and answers when he finds an abandoned ship. It’s releasing a “late calendar for 2021,” so soon – but nothing more accurate yet.

Lakeburg Legacies – New Game Announcement

In this medieval matchmaking game you will create an epic legacy of noble sprogs using… cards? Turns out you have your old time version of Tinder after all. Anyway, Lakeburg Legacies looks nice (and completely different from developers Ishtar Games’ previous back catalog, the tactical roguelike RPG The Last Spell and the survival management Dead In Vinland), and while it doesn’t have a release date yet, you can list it on your wishlist Steam now.

Sylt – New Game Announcement

In this monochrome deep sea adventure, you will flip your way through all kinds of marine horror. From the looks of things, you can also do some mind control on friendly piranhas that can (somehow) bite them through the metal chains. salary! You’ll be able to jump into the bodies of all kinds of fish nearby as well, presumably to solve a lot of Metroidvania-style puzzles. I’m intrigued! There’s no release date yet, but you can put it on your wishlist on Steam.

Gloomwood – New gameplay footage

They didn’t actually show this during the broadcast – they did a little bit about how they shocked Gabe Newell – but Gloomwood is a retro-looking FPS that, in my opinion, is cool enough to bump into Gabe (or at least has shocked one of the earlier trailers that wasn’t new up). I am a huge fan of the Victorian environment and the old school burglar whiff it gives off. Gloomwood is still coming “soon,” which is way too ominous to put it, but you can download the alpha beta and play it right now via Steam.

Solstice – New Game Announcement

If its name hasn’t already been revealed, this new action game has great Souls vibes in it. Or maybe it’s more than Sekiro. It definitely looks fast and furious, with great swords and even larger than life bosses standing in your way. It’s coming in 2022, and you can see the extended gameplay look on their website.

Arboria – New Trailer

In this procedurally generated dungeon crawler, you will encounter all kinds of plant villains. With fast and smooth combat, you’ll need to “grow” your pool of abilities by transforming into stronger and stronger forms. A bit like Biomutant, but if he was a moody human, he was also a 3D roguelite. Find out for yourself when it launches on Steam in August 2021.

Tinykin – New Game Announcement

I can’t get enough of the 3D world by choosing the 2D sprite design that a lot of games seem to be making right now. Tinykin is a puzzle platformer game in which you play as Milo, who is A) an alien and B) way smaller than usual, so you end up exploring inside an acoustic guitar for example. The titular little ones are a few of the goblins’ friendly fellow goblins. Think of Pikmin, basically, but break free from the tyranny of the exclusive platform.

Chernobyl – New Trailer

We saw a small glimpse of this creepy FPS during Guerilla’s first mass broadcast, but now we have more shots to enjoy in this extended gameplay montage. Here, you sneak into a power plant, hack open safes and explore downed helicopters. Combined with the previous look we’ve seen of its bot enemies, it certainly looks interesting. We won’t have to wait long to find out more either, as it launches on July 28.

Sacrifice – New Game Announcement

The next game from the makers of Warsaw, this RPG adventure borrows the same kind of HD 2D look as Square Enix’s Octopath Traveler to give a modern twist to this classic story. Its combat is sure to come as a surprise as well, as the trailer hints at a mixture of real-time combat and turn-based combat. Even better, it was scored by JRPG legend, Motoi Sakuraba. Consider my interests really good and amazing. There is no release yet, but you can support it on Kickstarter.

Ikarus – New Trailer

The first episode of Dean “DayZ” Hall’s new survival game Icarus ever closes, and in this new trailer you and your mates will face one of the most dangerous bears on planet Earth. Honestly, I think the bear just wanted a nice hug, really. No need to stick all those arrows in it, you big punks. It will be launched on August 11th.

Mechajammer – New Game Announcement

How many online RPGs do we need? At least one more, as always, and Mechajammer is a great-looking and dirty guy. It’s kind of 2.5D, with a pattern midway between pixel art and low poly that I really enjoy. Combat is turn-based, and you get to choose which technique you want to use (for example, on a graduated scale of sneaking up on blazing guns), as well as recruiting a team of miscreants. Check out the Steam page for more (and to wishlist).

Songs of Conquest – New Trailer

Revealed a couple of years ago at the PC Game Show, they’re back again with trailer behavior for a taste of the gameplay from this turn-based strategy doo-dad. Songs Of Conquest has your usual kingdom management and lands conquest, but the battles in particular are a little different. There, your combat field becomes a field of hexagons, and you need to have a proper strategy with the placement and command of your units. Look for it sometime in 2022.

Citizen Sleeper – New Game Announcement

In this stylish and futuristic RPG, you get up every day, do your work and go back to sleep again. Unfortunately for you, your body is dying. Is there a way to respond? You can upgrade your body to prevent “planned obsolescence”, but you must do it at your own risk, because once you do, “them” will come for you. Explore, make decisions and maybe even hack the planet to save your skin. Will you be able to survive? Find out when it will launch in 2022.

Project Warlock 2 – New Game Announcement

Project Warlock 2 is a doom-like game – a lo-fi FPS with plenty of blood all over the place, and a USP of casting spells in the mix as well. The original was a huge hit when it launched in 2018, and was made when the developer was still in high school. Now he’s back with a sequel (and presumably, some graduation exam results). You can now list it on Steam as it has been excitedly revealed that PW2 has “8-SIDED SOULS! VERTICAL! AUTOMATIC! QUICKSAVES!! MANUAL SAVE!!!”

E3 2021 runs from June 12-15, with more events around it. Please see our E3 broadcast schedule for more really useful information on the entire virtual shebang, and visit the E3 2021 Center to stay up to date with the news.
