The Brooklyn Nets seemed to have a serious problem en route to Game 5, and even more so when they dropped by as much as 17 points. But even with Kyrie Irving out and James Harden faltering, they still had Kevin Durant, and he led them all the way back to a 114-108 win to take a 3-2 lead in the series over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Durant was truly heroic, putting together one of the best showrunners in recent memory, perhaps of all time. Playing every 48 minutes, he finished with 49 points, 17 rebounds, 10 assists, two cuts and three steals on 16 of 23 off the field. His triple indicator to beat the shot clock late in the fourth quarter was the biggest bucket of the night, and he hit a few clutch free throws to secure the win. This was the game with the highest registrations as a Nets member, and it couldn’t have come at a better time.

Giannis Antetokounmo led the Bucks with 34 points, 12 rebounds and four assists, but that wasn’t enough. Milwaukee’s offensive faded along the distance, scoring just 21 points in the fourth quarter. Now, they will face a game 6 that must be won at home to keep their season alive.
