Windows 11 leaks call out the Windows 10X design, tease the new Start menu قائمة

Windows 11 will change its interface with a new Start menu and bring the taskbar toward the center of the screen, a movement that mirrors the position of the dock in macOS.

Microsoft’s next iteration of Windows, Windows 11, may bring an overhauled interface, and new images coming out on Tuesday seem to indicate that. Desktop screenshots purportedly show that there are many small changes to the operating system, which could simplify the interface from its current look in Windows 10.

First appeared on Baidu before being distributed more widely, including images published by The Verge, Windows 11 combines many of the elements introduced with Windows 10x and some new ideas. One of the main concepts is centralizing icons on the taskbar.

Apps in use usually appear next to the Start menu icon in the lower left of the screen, but the images show the row of icons being brought instead to the center of the bar itself. The start icon is part of this new center-aligned group, while other items like volume and clock controls continue to be in the lower right corner.

The Start menu appears to have been simplified to what was previously seen in Windows 10x, resulting in the loss of the Live Tiles of Windows 10 in favor of installed apps and recent files. Microsoft seems to have also gone to the rounded corners throughout the interface, while UI elements are coming back.

Among other changes, a new setup experience that takes users through the configuration process, and an improved Xbox app with deeper integration within Windows.

Microsoft is believed to be preparing to release a new version of Windows, with executives teasing the announcement of “the next generation of Windows” for some time. A special event is expected to include a preview of the next version of Windows on June 24.
