Entering the second round of the series between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Atlanta Hawks, it was difficult to make any concrete predictions due to the questions surrounding Joel Embiid’s health. The fourth game on Monday night was a good example of that. The Sixers were in complete control, then Embiid’s knee started to bother him and the Falcons returned in a big way. While there is plenty of basketball to be played this evening, Embiid looks more than great at first and the team has 76 double-digit progressions after one quarter as a result.
Should Embiid suffer as he did in the second half of Game 4, Philadelphia will have their hand in this game as the big All-Star man is one of the most important 76ers on both ends of the floor. While Philadelphia has plenty of other basketball-capable players on their roster, it all starts with Embiid and will need to be functional on this list. On the flip side, Trae Young should continue to play at the elite level as he averaged 27.3 points and 11.8 assists per game in the series.
