What, did you think we saw our last friends meeting?
Three weeks after the impressive HBO Max special, James Corden revealed additional footage with the cast filmed exclusively for CBS’ Late Show Show — including a type of Carpool Karaoke clip.
Wednesday’s episode saw Corden drive on the Warner Bros. plot, picking up all six friends — Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer — and pushing them onto Stage 24. Along the way, Corden asked if They could listen to some music. What followed was vocals for the feature song for the sitcom The Rembrandts “I’ll Be There for You”.
Once they arrived, Corden took a personal tour of the set, hooking up with Hugsy, peeking Chandler’s and Joey’s CD set, and taking Chandler’s beloved BarcaLounger on tour. He also revealed a never-before-seen part of the hallway separating apartments 19 and 20, and sniffed the floor to see if he could still smell the cheesecake Rachel and Chandler had eaten off the floor.
What followed was a seated interview at Central Perk, where the actors humor Corden and took the Best Friends audition.
Friends: The Reunion was only the second time all six cast members had been together in 17 years. The 100-minute special, hosted by Corden, revealed a semi-romance between Aniston and Schwimmer, and new archival footage of an injury on set. TVLine readers gave the meeting an average grade of “A-” – but left us with more questions than answers.
