Jackson said, “In many respects, Michael Lindsay Hough’s brilliant shots have captured many storylines. The story of friends and people. It is a story of human frailty and divine partnership. It is a detailed account of the creative process, with distinctive songs crafted under pressure, amid the social climate of early 1969. But it’s not nostalgic—it’s raw, honest, and human. Over the course of six hours, you’ll get to know the Beatles with an intimate relationship you never thought possible.”

He added, “I am so grateful to The Beatles, Apple Corps, and Disney for allowing me to present this story exactly the way it should be told. I have been immersed in this project for nearly three years, and am so excited that audiences around the world will finally be able to see it.”

The Beatles: Get Back takes audiences back in time to the band’s intimate recording sessions during a pivotal moment in music history. The documentary was compiled from over 60 hours of previously unseen footage filmed in January 1969 by Michael Lindsay-Hogg and over 150 hours of unheard audio, all restored.

Jackson is the only person in 50 years who has been given access to these private movie archives. The Beatles: Get Back tells the story of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr as they plan their first live show in over two years – what will be the famous rooftop performance – picking up writing and rehearsing 14 new songs that were originally slated to be released on a live album accompanying.

For the first time ever, the rooftop performance – the Beatles’ last live performance as a group – will be shown in full. The documentary’s music is, of course, the songs and compositions featured on the band’s last two albums, Abbey Road and Let It Be.

The Beatles: Get Back is directed by Jackson, produced by Claire Olsen and Jonathan Clyde, and Apple’s Ken Cummins and Jeff Jones serve as executive producers. Jabez Olsen serves as the documentary’s editor, and Giles Martin and Sam Oakl mix in the music.

The Beatles: Get Back is made with the support of Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono Lennon, and Olivia Harrison.

Before the Disney+ documentary premieres, Apple Corps Ltd/Callaway Arts & Entertainment will release The Beatles: Get Back on October 12. A 240-page hardcover complements the documentary with transcripts of the Beatles’ taped conversations and hundreds of never-exclusive conversations. Before posting photos from the three weeks of sessions. The collectible book will be published in nine editions in international languages, including English.
