Pokémon Unite launches next month on Switch, but mobile players will need to wait

The Pokémon Company has shared a lot of new details about the Pokémon Unite, confirming that the game will launch on the Nintendo Switch next month.

Mobile players will have to wait a bit longer – the game will launch on Switch first in July, followed by a mobile launch in September – but the rollout will be free on both platforms, and cross-platform play is “planned”. A new trailer has been released to give us a fresh look, so be sure to watch it above.

UNITE takes place on the island of Aeos, a mythical island said to lie on the unexplored ocean frontier. There, players will find the Unite Battle Committee (UBC), which runs a series of Unite Battle tournaments. These battles allow players to form teams of five and compete against each other to see who can score the most points before time runs out. You will also come across a mysterious new form of energy known as Aeos energy which can be used in Unite Battles to evolve Pokémon.

Here are some (okay, a lot) of PR:

Unite Battles Rules – Unite Battles is where Trainers and their partner Pokémon compete in 5v5 team battles. The key to victory in Unite Battle is to get a higher score than the other team when time is running out. To earn points for your team, you must collect Aeos energy by defeating wild and opposing Pokémon and then deposit that energy into one of the opposing team’s target areas. Unite Battles take place in different stadiums, and the rules for each stadium are different. There can be different number of team members, different match lengths, and even different Legendary Pokémon appear.

Face off against skilled teams – In Unite Battles, collaboration with colleagues is important. When you are fighting a skilled team or when you are at a disadvantage, you may be able to open a path to victory by coordinating with your teammates. In ranked matches, you can earn performance points, which can increase – or decrease – your ranking based on the outcome of the battle. When you’re just starting out, you’ll fight at the Junior Cup level and start making your journey to the Master Cup. In addition, those who are ranked will be recorded on a global ranking board for the whole world to see.

Level Up – Before each Unite Battle, the participating Pokémon are returned to Lv. 1 Through the power of Aeos’ energy, and throughout each battle, they gain experience. points and level up. As Pokémon level up, they learn powerful moves and evolve, and as Pokémon reach higher levels, they also learn Unite Move – a powerful move that can only be learned and used in Unite Battles. Unite Moves can change the course of battle!

Fight with a new look – In Pokémon UNITE, you can change the appearance of your Pokémon and Trainer. Take part in Unite Battles as you show off your unique style! You can use Holowear, a special technique that uses the energy of Aeos, to dress your Pokémon in a variety of costumes. You can also customize your trainer’s appearance, clothing, and accessories to make sure your trainer always looks his best, both in and out of battle. You can update your profile with a Unite Snap that displays the avatar of your trainer and partner Pokémon, and you can even customize the snap by changing the coach’s expression or pose or by adding stickers. Before entering the match, you and the other players can see each other’s Unite shot too!

Find your turn – Many different Pokémon, such as Chargard, Pikachu, and Greeninia, appear in Pokémon UNITE. While there are no genre strengths and weaknesses in Unite Battles, each Pokémon has its own unique stats and role – Attacker, Defender, Speedster, Booster, or All-Rounder – that reflects its play style. You’ll want to practice with different Pokemon to see what works for you. To use Pokémon in Unite Battles, you must have a Unite license for that Pokémon. Unite licenses can be obtained through the Unite Battle Committee, where you can exchange Aeos coins (which can be earned through Unite Battles) for the desired license.

Enjoy more Pokémon UNITE with the Battle Pass – You will have the opportunity to earn in-game rewards with the Seasonal Battle Pass. To earn these rewards, you will need to level up your pass by completing missions. In addition, players can upgrade their Battle Pass with Aeos Gems, enabling them to claim more rewards.

Get items via stores – Pokémon UNITE has three types of in-game currency: Aeos gem (paid), Aeos coins, and Aeos tickets. Aeos coins and Aeos tickets can be obtained by playing the game. In the Unite Battle Committee, players can use Aeos coins or Aeos gems to get Unite licenses, which allow them to take Pokémon in Unite Battles. In the Aeos Emporium, players can use Aeos Coins or Aeos Gems to get UBC approved merchandise such as Retained Pokémon items or Trainer fashion items (fashion items can also be obtained with Aeos tickets). Zirco Trading specializes in Holowear, which can be obtained using Aeos stones.
