Former Vice President Mike Pence was met with sporadic harassment on Friday, in a speech he was giving in the president’s home country where he served. While he was addressing a plenary session at the Faith and Freedom Alliance in Orlando, there was some mockery, with some yelling at him “traitor.”
Pence did not hesitate to declare himself “Christian, Conservative, Republican – in that order” and went on to say, as he often does, that serving as Vice President alongside President Trump “was the greatest honor of my life.”
He has set out what he called a “winning agenda” to restore the Republican majority in the Senate and House of Representatives in next year’s midterm elections, calling GOP opponents anti-Christian and anti-military.
“Our movement will reject every effort to marginalize Christians and conservatives wherever it appears. We will expose religious persecution masquerading as the pursuit of equal rights, and we will demand that government agencies, our military, and our public schools reject critical race theory in all things,” Pence said.
The former vice president has attempted to demonstrate that the Biden administration is enslaving those on the far left in the Democratic Party, telling conference attendees that “one of the most troubling developments” during the first few months of the Biden administration was its “honest embrace of the radical left’s sweeping attack on culture” and American values.
Pence claimed that “patriotic education” had been replaced by “political indoctrination” and said that critical race theory, which posits that racism is a social construct rooted in a country’s legal, economic and political systems, teaches children to be ashamed of the color of their skin.

“The critical race theory is racist, pure and simple,” Pence said. “And every American of every race should reject it,” Pence said.
He added that it was time for America to “ignore the left-wing backlash to see systemic racism across the country,” and recalled Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina, the only black Republican senator, who said “America is not a racist country.”
Pence also attacked the Biden administration’s handling of the US-Mexico border and claimed that President Biden had turned the world’s “safest” border into the worst border crisis in American history. He also invited Vice President Kamala Harris to visit the southern border.
“It’s been a long time since our current vice president went to the border, put our policies back in place and ended today’s Biden border crisis,” Pence said.
The former vice president also offered criticism of President Biden’s handling of last week’s G7 summit and accused Biden of showing poor leadership abroad. “President Biden has been so busy accommodating the sensibilities of European leaders that President Macron said this week at the G-7, How wonderful it was to have an American president come back as part of the club. Well, the only club I want is the United States. United States of America,” Pence said, adding his own role in Mr. Trump’s “America First” doctrine.
He claimed that Biden abandoned Israel “and led to the worst outbreak of violence in the Middle East in seven years.” Pence also attacked the current administration for rejoining the Paris climate agreement and announcing plans to reopen negotiations with Iran: “President Biden has traded strength for weakness, moral clarity with confusion, and loyalty with betrayal.”
