LeBron James was the ultimate captain during his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Here’s what he said after an amazing final match.

On this day, five years ago, the Cleveland Cavaliers wrote history when they won their first NBA championship. LeBron James and his company overturned a 3-1 deficit to claim the title against the Golden State Warriors. It’s one of the best comebacks in NBA history as they became the first team to come back from a 3-1 deficit.

It was Kerry’s triple pointers with about a minute remaining on the clock that gave the Cavaliers the decisive lead and perhaps the title. Right before the clutch shot, the Warriors were excited to the edge.

Steve Curry passed the ball to Andre Iguodala, who climbed to the edge but was blocked in time by LeBron. This block was so crucial to Tyronn Lue’s team as it allowed the Cavs to reclaim possession.

The Cavs showed great mental strength and tenacity to play three knockout games on the trot. Hence, at the bell, the Cavs trotted the floor in disbelief and glee. Emotions were high even at the press conference as LeBron carried the NBA trophy to his chest and choked on tears.

‘They’re awesome’: LeBron James said he motivated his Cavs teammates after winning Game Six

Speaking of the mentality and determination shown by the Cavaliers, he was led by LeBron, Kerry and coach Lowe. They believed this transformation was possible even when the Cavs were standing on the walls.

It was LeBron’s thrilling performance in Game Five where he lost 41 points three times a weakness that swung the tide in their favour. Incidentally, Kyrie also lost 41 points and the star duo led the Cavs to win 97-112.

The win in Game 5 gave them hope of getting out in Game Six. King James repeated his performance from the previous match dropping another 41 points in winning the match.

After the win, LeBron was quick to point out the warriors’ mental and physical condition. Mentally and physically. Motivating his teammates to get dressed before Match 7, LeBron said, I tell you, they are great.

They won Game 6, 115-101 and that gave them the incentive to go to the finish. The once-impossible mission was turning out to be a reality, hence they brought all the momentum to Game 7.

Winning that championship was an Akron Hammer dream. In the end, it was probably the biggest difference between the two sides.
