The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a shooting that killed two people and injured at least four others early Saturday morning.

Sgt. L’Jean McKneely Jr. said: It happened in a parking lot around 2 a.m. local time when an argument broke out between unknown individuals when a group of attendees began leaving a concert at Capital Park Bar & Grill on Florida Boulevard.

During the altercation, authorities said that several people had started shooting. A total of six people were shot.

Police said Keren Walton, 25, and Ladarius Alexander, 20, died of gunshot wounds. The other four victims have been taken to a local hospital and are expected to live.

The owners of Capital Park Bar & Grill said in an Instagram post that they “have been and will constantly cooperate with the authorities and we ask everyone to keep the families of the victims in your thoughts and prayers during this time.”

Police said no suspects had been identified as of Saturday afternoon. Investigators urged anyone with information to contact the Violent Crimes Unit at 4869-225389 or Stoppers at 225-344-7867.

Until further notice, all events at Capital Park Bar and Grill have been canceled “and we will have no further comment as this is an ongoing investigation. As a community, we ask that we make one last stop to the violence and let’s build each other up.”
