Embiid fined for ‘escalating’ the situation

Embiid fell atop John Collins of the Hawks during a dip with a 4:02 left in the fourth quarter of Game Six of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Collins pushed Embiid and they both got up. Embiid then pursued Collins with his hands out wide and fell into the crowd behind the basket. Collins clung to an exterminator trying not to turn back.

The NBA announced that Embiid had been fined for “escalating the altercation in court by unsportingly stalking Atlanta Hawks forward John Collins and for failing to comply with an NBA Security interview following an incident in court.”

Kiki Vandeweghe, Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations for the NBA, announced the fine and suspension.
