The gentle undertones of Chris Martin singing “Fix You” can only do so much healing, as Alex Rodriguez appears to have progressed to the small stage of his split from Jennifer Lopez.
In moves that are bound to land the former MLB star on his ex-fiancée’s radar, Rodriguez has rented a mansion in Bridgehampton, New York, for the summer, a stone’s throw from Lopez’s private home at Water Mill, according to Page Six.
Over the weekend, Rodriguez shared a video of himself on Instagram shooting episodes outside his new home in the Hamptons, which, Page Six notes, is only a three-minute drive from Lopez’s home.
And in case there was any doubt, Rodriguez knew just how close his new mansion was to Lopez’s: the two spent last summer together in her sprawling home before they called it quits earlier this year.
Naturally, the music star rekindled her romance with Ben Affleck after nearly two decades, with reports claiming that Rodriguez was “extremely shocked” about their reunion.
But just when you thought this split couldn’t get any more chaotic, the retired athlete was spotted at the birthday party of longtime “Saturday Night Live” producer Lindsay Shookus — and Affleck’s ex-girlfriend — over the weekend.
In a video captured at an intimate gathering in the backyard, Rodriguez is seated next to Shookus, who dated Affleck on and off for years before the two finally went their separate ways in 2019.
Shookus appears to be friendly with all parties involved. She was seen attending a dinner party with both Lopez and Rodriguez in 2019 before the “Hustlers” star hosted the late-night sketch show.
As for whether there were sparks between Rodriguez and Chocos, a representative of the baseball star told Page Six, “There’s absolutely nothing there,” adding, “They’ve been friends for 15 years.”
But, as this truly wild summer of coupling and re-pairing has shown us, no one is safe from the celebrity mayhem of 2021.
