Defensive end Raiders Karl Nesib received support from across the NFL after he came out on Monday as the league’s only gay player.

Statements of support came from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Raiders owner Mark Davis and Raiders coach John Gruden.

Two other members of the Raiders’ defensive line, Darius Stiles and Solomon Thomas, have posted on social media that they are proud of their cousin.

Nesib’s former teammate Penn State and current Giants ditch Saquon Barkley tweeted, “Much respect, Broda.” “I was proud of Karl when he led the nation in sacks, but I’m even more proud of him now,” wrote Penn State coach James Franklin.

“Good for you, Carl,” the Cardinals defensive tackle JJ Watt wrote. “I’m glad you feel comfortable enough to participate and hopefully one day these kinds of ads won’t be considered breaking news.”
